Do you accept walk-ins, or do I need an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome when the schedule allows, but booking online is the best way to guarantee a specific time. Same-day appointments are often available.

What insurance do you accept?

We direct-bill most major vision and health insurance plans. Bring your insurance information to your appointment and we'll apply it at checkout.

What age can my child start getting eye exams here?

We see children starting at age 4. Signs worth booking an exam for include sitting close to the TV, frequent eye rubbing, or a teacher mentioning vision as a possible factor in schoolwork.

How long does a comprehensive eye exam take?

Most comprehensive eye exams take 30 to 45 minutes, including digital retinal imaging and a full vision and eye health assessment.

Do you do contact lens fittings for first-time wearers?

Yes — first-time contact lens fittings include hands-on training for insertion, removal, and care, no experience needed.

What are your hours?

Monday–Friday 11am–8pm, Saturday 10am–5pm, Sunday 12pm–5pm.

Where exactly are you located?

We're at 5530 Baldwin Street South in Longo's Plaza, Whitby.

Do you offer diabetic or medical eye exams?

Yes — we offer medical and diabetic eye exams with direct billing available for most medical insurance plans.

Is Dr. Khan an independent optometrist or part of a chain?

Dr. Samina Khan is an independent Doctor of Optometry practicing inside Pearle Vision Whitby — personal, unhurried care plus the convenience of an established eyewear selection in one visit.

Do I need a referral to book an eye exam?

No referral is needed for a routine eye exam — you can book directly online or by phone.

How often should I get an eye exam if I don't wear glasses?

Most optometrists recommend an annual eye exam for adults, even without vision changes, since exams also screen for glaucoma, cataracts, and early signs of diabetes.
